Man Allegedly Loses His Life in A Possible DUI Accident

Reports from the Washington State Patrol claim that sometime after 7 a.m. on Monday, there was a one-vehicle accident on State Route 164 that sadly claimed the life of one man while leaving another man injured. News sources didn’t disclose how severe were the injuries the man sustained.

The news reports that a Bonney Lake resident, who was 26 years old at the time of the crash, was driving eastbound on SR 164. Authorities say that the driver was under the influence, which might have caused his sudden crossing to the westbound lanes that led his vehicle to leave the road and hit multiple trees.

The passenger in the car, a 27-year-old man from Kirkland was injured by the time the Washington State Patrol arrived; he was taken to the hospital immediately. According to official reports, the driver who was tragically killed was not wearing his seat belt while the passenger was.

As a Kirkland car accident lawyer, I hope that the passenger who was involved in this fatal accident may recover quickly and without any major hassles. He must know that at this time he should have the assistance of a personal injury lawyer throughout the process.

Recall Issued For Black Bean Tortillas

According to recent news from various outlets, the company United Natural Foods, Inc. is issuing a recall of black bean tortillas in the State of California. This is yet another case of possible botulism bacteria contamination to haunt the press.

The Rhode Island-based company announced along with the Food and Drug Administration that there hasn’t been any illnesses reports linked to the consumption of this item but they have decided to go along with the recall anyway.

The reports from the different articles have stated that the recalled item was distributed to Safeway stores. Although this was not a nationwide recall, I believe readers should be aware of any food recall that goes on even only in a local scale. We never know when products that might have been recalled in the past will make it to our table.

As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I hope that nobody will get sick from consuming contaminated food products. Unfortunately, more often than ever, personal injury attorneys have to deal with sad cases of individuals who fall fatally ill after consuming contaminated products poorly inspected by the manufacturers.

Don’t delay and call your attorney right away.

State Patrol Emphasizes Commercial Vehicle Safety

News sources reported that the Washington State Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Division is participating in the annual Operation Safe Driver week with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) this week.

According to a news release from the Patrol, troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers (CVEO) will be conducting comprehensive inspections of commercial vehicles, as well as other roadside enforcement activities, across the state. Their focus will be on driver behavior of both the commercial drivers and that of the other vehicles surrounding them on the road.

Captain Darrin Grondel of the Commercial Vehicle Division, said, “Last week our officers were riding in commercial vehicles and targeting cars and trucks that drove aggressively are the big trucks. This week our CVEOS and troopers will focus on inspecting commercial vehicles and the drivers to ensure they are following good safety practices.”

The Washington State Patrol participated in the 2010 Operation Safe Driver event and inspected 2,133 commercial vehicles during that time, placing 233 vehicles and 89 drivers out of commission.

As an Everett car accident lawyer, I hope that this effort by our law enforcement officials aids in creating a safer environment for everyone on our roadways. If you’ve been injured in an accident that you believe was the result of the negligent driving habits of another, speak with a car accident lawyer in your city to learn more about your rights in the matter.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a 57-year-old Graham man was traveling northbound on State Route 161 at approximately 8:15pm when he struck the rear of another vehicle. Troopers believe that the man, traveling at unknown speeds, struck the vehicle of a 39-year-old Graham man as the latter was attempting to make a left turn onto 237th Street East from the state route.

Both men sustained moderate injuries in the collision. The 57-year-old Graham man was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital for the treatment of injuries of injuries sustained in the accident. The 39-year-old Graham man was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for the treatment of undisclosed injuries he suffered during the crash. No updates have been provided on their conditions.

Washington State Patrol Troopers stated that they suspect alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident and have since booked the elder Graham man into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. They are continuing their investigation into the accident.

As a Tacoma car accident lawyer, I’ve seen similar accidents in the past and am relieved that no one was more seriously injured in what could have been a deadly accident. Washington State Patrol Conducting Special Emphasis Patrol

In a news release, the Washington State Patrol announced that, in association with the Washington Trucking Association, they will be conducting a Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks (TACT) emphasis patrol.

During the TACT emphasis patrol, Washington State Patrol officers and Sheriff’s deputies from both the Snohomish and Thurston County Sheriff’s Offices will ride in the cabs of commercial vehicles scanning traffic for violators. The criteria they are basing this emphasis patrol on consists of five collision-causing violations, which are: excessive speeding, following other vehicles too closely, driver distraction and inattention, failure to yield to other traffic and driving over the centerline.

The State Patrol stated that they, along with deputies from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, will patrol Snohomish County while a simultaneous effort is being conducted in Thurston County.

The Washington State Patrol officers riding in the commercial vehicles will be aided by TACT and Commercial Division troopers in their attempt to target aggressive passenger vehicle and trucks throughout this emphasis patrol.

As a Renton car accident attorney, I’ve seen the resulting accidents from each of the targeted behaviors and know the devastating effects they can have on the victims and their families. If you’ve been injured as the result of another’s negligent driving practices, call a car accident lawyer in your town to discuss your rights as they pertain to the matter.
