Thanksgiving was surely a busy time for Washington State Troopers, according to an official report from the Washington State Patrol.
The news says motorists throughout the state of Washington were closely monitored during the four-day weekend and the result was the sad recognition that drunken drivers insist on putting the lives of others at risk.
Official statements from the authorities show that over three hundred people were arrested due to DUI offenses over the Thanksgiving holiday. State troopers from Oregon have also declared they made 72 arrests related to drinking and driving during the weekend.
According to numbers released by news articles, this year saw a 65 percent jump in DUI related arrests from last year’s number.
As a Seattle auto accident attorney I urge all motorists to remember they’re not only risking their lives whenever they engage in the reckless behavior of drinking and driving, they’re risking the lives of countless others.
A personal injury lawyer in the Washington state is always ready to answer to any questions to those involved in an accident caused by a third party.
