Distracted Driver Caused Fatal Chain Collision, Texted Before Crash

A 19-year-old who reportedly sent and received 11 text messages just before hitting the back of a tractor truck, caused a fatal chain collision in Missouri. The news articles from the time of the accident reported that the accident involved the teen’s pickup truck, the tractor truck he drove into at 55 mph and two school buses following right behind the teen.

The unfortunate and entirely preventable accident claimed the lives of the distracted teen and a 15-year-old who was riding in one of the buses. According to the local news, the kids were headed to the Six Flags St. Louis amusement park on that day. Local Police enforcement claims no text or phone call should be more important than the countless lives we put in danger every time we handle our phones behind the wheel.

The authorities hope that this accident will serve as a real example of the severe consequences of texting and driving, which is already an illegal practice in several states. Pulling to a side street so you can call or text someone is much more responsible than trying to do so while driving. Using a headset while behind the wheel can also keep you from losing track of what happens around you and downloading an app that will block your phone every time it senses you’re driving can also help you to stay away from the temptation of engaging in this highly risky practice.

As a Renton car accident lawyer I send my thoughts to the relatives of the young teens who lost their lives as a result of this tragic accident, I truly hope similar accidents will be forever eradicated.

Personal injury lawyers are always available to answer your questions related to an accident caused by a third party that might have left you or a loved one severely injured, do not delay in contacting one in your area whenever needed.

Crash At I-5 Causes Traffic Jam

According to very recent news, the very two right lanes of Interstate 5 where it interchanges with Interstate 405 are completely blocked because of a collision.

The still very inconclusive reports from the Washington State Patrol say that this was a one-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck.

The driver allegedly has serious injuries although nobody can really say it with certainty. Washington State Department of Transportation has released the footage of the crash and according to what’s been seen, the truck seems to have tried to stop under the overpass without much success.

There are many emergency vehicles stopped by the crash area and according to the last official reports, the conditions for the accident to have happened are not yet known. Authorities are trying to keep the traffic going around the accident scene.

As an Olympia personal injury lawyer I sincerely hope that the truck driver will be able to fully recover in a speedy and hassle free way. I also urge the authorities to work on the investigations that will finally demonstrate what was behind this crash so people can learn from the dangers of the road.

Whenever you’re involved in a truck accident that was completely somebody else’s fault, remember to contact a personal injury lawyer that will be able to assist you promptly.

Inspections Fail When it Comes to Trucks and Truck Safety

News says that according to recent data taken from truck inspection conducted by the Washington State Patrol, some of the riskiest trucks on Washington roads keep rolling out of the Port of Seattle every single day. The large number of trucks combined with the lack of infrastructure makes it hard for authorities to inspect every single vehicle that otherwise wouldn’t be able to leave the port without being thoroughly examined.

The Seattle Department of Transportation was given the task of making sure more than 4,000 trucks that serve Seattle on a daily basis would take safety inspections seriously. The Washington State Patrol officers noticed right away that they were overwhelmed and weren’t sure if they would be able to make it. According to officers the inspections lacked in quality. Because they had to rush through each truck driver, there were moments when they would even say they had inspected a certain vehicle without actually doing so.

These unsafe trucks carry shipping containers from the port all around Harbor Island. Not only trucks and truck drivers suffer from the lack of inspection, so does the product they’re carrying and distributing.

As a Seattle personal injury attorney, I urge the authorities to take matters into their hands and turn the tables on this puzzling inspection issue Washington State has with trucks. Whenever you feel like you need a personal injury lawyer to respond to your every doubt regarding a possible case, don’t hesitate. The faster you call the better.

‘Santa Claus’ Rescues 4-year-old From The Traffic

According to the Washington State Patrol and other news outlets, a truck driver alelgedly saved a 4-year-old boy who happened to wander away from the house that belonged to his aunt somewhere close to Eltopia.

The reports from the Washington State Patrol claim that the driver found the boy on Highway 395. The boy who’s now safe at home with his aunt, left the house when she was allegedly taking a shower.

The authorities say the kid ran a mile away and ended up at a median, just north of Pasco when the truck driver saw him from his vehicle.

The driver claims the boy came to him without any major hesitations, maybe because he thought the driver looked like Santa Claus. After a call to 911, Child Protective Services came to the kid’s rescue so he could be reunited with his family.

As a Tacoma Personal Injury Lawyer and a parent, I hope that the 4-year-old boy is doing well. There are many moments when our children like to act out of peer spontaneity and carefreeness, we must always be attentive so a similar situation won’t turn out badly.

Whenever you or a loved one had an issue regarding the well being of a child provoked by a third party, don’t hesitate in contacting a professional personal injury lawyer who will handle your case accordingly.

Semi-truck Driver Loses His Life in Head-on Collision

According to recent local news, a man from Selah allegedly lost his life while driving his semi-tractor. The 57-year-old man was going south on State Route 221 when the vehicle crossed the very center line, which led to the collision between his vehicle and another semi-truck that was driving north.

The 57-year-old man allegedly was found pronounced dead at the Hospital while the other driver only suffered a few injuries without any serious consequences. According to officials, an extensive investigation must be held so the causes of the accident may be known. Because of the severe crash, the highway was closed but the authorities offered detours to the traffic.

At this moment, it is not known if drugs or alcohol played any role in this accident.

As a Wenatchee car accident attorney, I hope that authorities will have answers regarding the causes of this accident soon enough. It’s a well known fact that distracted driving can be fatal in many cases. This unfortunate accident simply proves that we should never lose track of the road ahead of us.

When driving distracted, you’re not only putting your life in danger, you’re also risking the lives of many others. The man sadly involved in this crash can use the help of a personal injury lawyer to assist him with his personal injury case.

Head-on Collision Involving Seven People Claims the Life of One

According to reports released by the Washington State Patrol, a collision involving seven people late Saturday allegedly claimed the life of one.

The man, a 50 year-old from Woodburn, Oregon was a passenger in the Mazda driven by a 23-year-old. The accident happened, according to the Washington State Patrol, after the vehicle crossed the center line colliding against an Audi driven by another 23-year-old.

News sources say that the accident happened sometime after 11 p.m. and tests were run to determine if drugs or alcohol had anything to do with the accident. An officer said that unfortunately that was allegedly the case.

One of the passengers involved in the head-on collision is a 3-year old boy.

As an Everett personal injury lawyer I believe that we all should be extremely careful not to be tempted to drive while intoxicated. It’s against the law and it can always result in a fatal accident.

I sincerely wish the best to the family of the man who passed away. Personal injury lawyers are unfortunately very familiar with similar fatal accidents. The pain and suffering are not worth the drinking and driving, safety should always be our priority.
