Many news outlets all over the Country announced that Ready Pac Foods, Inc. from CA is recalling over 5,300 cases of mixed salads. The Romaine lettuce in these cases allegedly present a health risk to consumers. Announcements from the FDA state that the recalled item may be contaminated with E. coli.

E. coli causes diarrheal illnesses among other things and may pose as highly risky threats for those with a weak immune system, children and elders.

According to medical reports, healthy adults can recover from E. coli contamination within a week, but other individuals not as healthy may develop a kidney failure disease known as Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome when they consume an infected product. This kidney condition can cause severe damage to the individual’s health.

The recalled items were allegedly distributed to the state of Oregon, California, Hawaii, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Idaho and Washington.

The reports demonstrate that no other products from this manufacturer were recalled or contaminated. No illnesses have been reported as the result of the consumption of the contaminated boxes of salad.

As an Everett personal injury attorney I hope all consumers will stop using the products that have been recalled right away.

Remain alert when it comes to food recalls, you might be consuming something that is contaminated. Personal injury lawyers are always ready to assist anyone who has been the victim of a contaminated item, the faster the victim contacts a lawyer the better.

E. coli contamination has prompted Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. to recall 131,300 pounds of ground beef, according to recent news reports.

The Ohio Department of Health notified the U.S. Department of Agriculture after four children in an Ohio family were sickened by the bacteria. The incident occurred in Butler County, with sicknesses starting September 8 through September 11.

The products subject to recall are Kroger-brand ground beef with a product code D-0211 QW; Butcher’s Brand beef with a product code D-0211 LWIF; and generic label beef with a product code D-0211 LWI. All of the products affected had a best buy or freeze by label of September 12.

The company believes that the product has been consumed for the most part by now, given the expiration date. However, if you do have this product, they recommend you discard it or return it to your point of purchase for a refund.

As a personal injury attorney Federal Way, consumer health is something that I am very conscious of and I know that even with tough rules and regulations on manufacturers, mistakes can still be made. I encourage anyone who is experiencing the symptoms of food poisoning to seek immediate medical attention. The personal injury lawyer at our law firm sincerely hope that no one has been sickened by consuming the recalled ground beef.
