Edmonds Man Killed in Truck Accident on I-90

News outlets reported that a 26-year-old Edmonds man lost his life in an accident on Interstate 90 near Ellensburg Monday afternoon.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred roughly 11 miles west of Ellensburg on Interstate 90 at approximately 1:10pm Monday. The 26-year-old was driving his 1994 Toyota pickup truck westbound on the interstate when, for unknown reasons, he veered off the roadway, overcorrected his vehicle and struck a westbound 2000 Toyota 4 Runner driven by a 15-year-old Gold Bar male. The Toyota continued across all traffic lanes to the other side of the road where the driver lost control. The vehicle then rolled, ejecting the driver.

The 26-year-old Edmonds man was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, resulting in his ejection. Emergency crews arrived on the scene and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he pronounced dead. The 15-year-old Gold Bar driver escaped the accident uninjured.

Washington State Patrol troopers are continuing their investigation into this incident, however they have stated that they believe intoxicants played a contributing role in the crash.

As a Seattle car accident lawyer, I’m deeply saddened to learn of this tragic accident. I’ve witnessed similar accidents in the past and the effects they’ve had on the friends and family over my time as a car accident lawyer.
