Accident Caused By Suspected Drugged Driver

According to recent news articles, an accident involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy and an alleged drugged driver sent both motorists to the hospital. The accident happened near Lake Elsinore around 7:30 in the morning. A 66-year-old man was driving westbound on Highway 74 when his Toyota Prius drifted off to the opposing traffic lanes.

According to the official reports from the California Highway Patrol, his Prius vehicle collided head-on against a Honda Civic driven by an off-duty Orange County sheriff’s deputy.

Witnesses claimed that the driver had been previously seen weaving in and out of his lane on the road just before the wreck. A spokesperson from the California Highway Patrol stated that the 66-year-old driver was under the influence of narcotics and that both drivers were taken to the local hospital as soon as the authorities arrived at the scene.

As an Orange County car accident lawyer, I’m saddened to hear that this accident was likely caused by intoxicated driving. I hope both drivers are able to experience a speedy recovery. I’m glad to hear that no one else was involved in this wreck. When you are intoxicated and you drive you’re not only putting yourself at risk, but also the safety of others.

If you or a loved one has been injured in an intoxicated driving accident, contact a personal injury lawyer.

Authorities Arrest Man Involved In A DUI Related Accident

According to the local news articles, a man from Nevada City was involved in a crash that forced authorities to close the Red Dog Road.

Official reports from the California Highway Patrol demonstrate that the driver was intoxicated when the accident happened. The 23-year-old man was in a Mazda Protege on Red Dog Road coming from Boulder Street some time after 10:12 pm last Friday when he tried to turn right but the turn failed, he lost control of his vehicle and ended up traveling across the road while engaging in a head-on collision against another vehicle.

The news says that both vehicles involved were disabled and that the California Highway Patrol had to block the road to clear up the debris.

The official reports show that the 23-year-old driver complained of pains on his left hand and eventual ringing in his ears. After being taken to the hospital, the local police took the driver involved in the accident under their custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. The CHP announced the man was released after posting $1,400 bail.

As a Riverside personal injury lawyer I urge all drivers who happen to be reading this blog post to never drive under the influence. Remember, it is not only illegal, it’s highly dangerous and it could claim your life and the lives of others.

Personal injury lawyers should be always ready to be of great assistance to you whenever you feel like you were the victim of an incident caused by someone else.

Authorities Hope To Insure Safe Roads To California Residents

An enhanced law enforcement effort from the California Highway Patrol has been issued for the next 10 months. According to the recent news the number of fatalities involving DUI collisions has increased greatly in the past years.

By insuring California’s roadways are safe, authorities keep motorists safe. The California Highway Patrol hopes to lower the number of DUI related victims substantially by raising the number of troopers on duty.

The news reports that a DUI task force along with local law enforcement agencies are organizing themselves to provide an enhanced anti-DUI surveillance. CHP officials claim that a tougher oversight will make drivers think twice before drinking and driving.

Troopers confirm that the emphasis of this effort is on the capturing of motorists driving while intoxicated but that it’s not the only issue officers are looking forward to eradicate. Drowsy and distracted driving will also keep officers busy.

As a Fresno car accident lawyer I urge all drivers to engage in a safe driving behavior. Unfortunately, any personal injury lawyer is awfully familiar with the fatalities of DUI related crashes. Don’t be a victim, stay alert and drive safely and whenever you have a doubt about a personal injury case you or a loved one is involved with, contact your lawyer right away.
