Accident On Highway 305 Claims The Life Of A Passenger

According to the local news, a 50-year-old woman who was killed after being involved in a head-on collision was unfortunately killed. The Washington State Patrol released a statement claiming that the woman was identified after her body was retrieved from the accident scene on Highway 305 last Friday.

The official reports show that the accident happened some time around 6 in the afternoon just in front of the Cedar Glen RV Park. The investigators working on this case think that the driver responsible for the crash was driving while intoxicated. The 46-year-old woman from Poulsbo was driving northbound when suddenly she veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on against the 1993 Saturn carrying the victim. Officials say she wasn’t wearing her seat belt.

The driver of the struck vehicle was severely injured and was rushed to the Hospital by a helicopter along with the drunken driver.

Authorities blocked the roadway for four hours so the accident scene could be cleared up.

As an Olympia car accident lawyer I extend my most profound condolences to the family of the woman who tragically lost her life because of this accident. The thoughts and hearts of all personal injury lawyers are with them.

Fortunately, this accident will serve as an alert to all motorists who think they could possibly get away with driving under the influence. Don’t be a victim of a drunken driver, contact a proficient lawyer as soon as needed.

Frozen Pasta Recall Issued

A certain amount of frozen stuffed pasta produced and distributed by the D’Orazio Foods, Inc. from New Jersey is being recalled due to the lack of proper inspections performed before the items were shipped.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service revealed that the company must seize over 161,000 ponds of the frozen pasta distributed to many states including California.

After a routine assessment managed by the FSIS, agents realized there was a certain batch of pasta that had been produced when inspectors were not present at the facility. The recalled items include Albertsons’ beef ravioli, Albertsons’ sausage ravioli, Jewel sausage ravioli, Our Family beef ravioli and Jewel beef ravioli. States like California, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Oregon and Utah are known to have distributed the recalled products.

According to the agency, the lack of a proper inspection may lead to severe ramifications. All companies must abide to the federal regulations and have their food products properly inspected or lives of consumers throughout the nation will suffer.

Any personal injury lawyer can tell you that many personal injury cases are related to the negligence of companies that fail to have their products properly inspected by the authorities.

As a Newport Beach personal injury attorney I hope that no severe contaminations will be discovered in the recalled products. I urge all consumers to follow the agency’s recommendation and return the product if you happen to have purchased it. Do not delay.

Cell Phone Ban Not Enough, Texting While Driving Up By Half Since Last Year

A recent study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration denotes that 2 out of every 10 drivers admit to replying to emails and text messages while conducting a vehicle.

Recent efforts to ban the use of cellphones while driving has yet to catch on all across the Nation since statics indicate that the rise in use of handheld devices in the last year has resulted in an even greater number of fatal accidents. Such fatalities could have possibly been avoided if drivers kept their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

The agency’s survey revealed that most drivers of every age group admitted they would answer a phone call while handling a vehicle and didn’t feel they were doing anything wrong. Half of the individuals interviewed by the agency who were 21 to 24 years old confirmed they engaged in texting while driving.

The government agency leading the studies voices a strong opinion regarding this matter: only education won’t change this picture. They confirm that only steady law enforcement and strong laws will keep drivers safe from distracted driving.

Educational campaigns demonstrating the dangers of cell phone use combined with a strict police ticketing system has proven to work before, it’s time this will happen again across the nation.

As a Seattle personal injury lawyer, I urge all drivers to stay away from the temptation of using your cell phones while driving. Maintaining the focus on the road will save your life and the lives of others.

Personal injury lawyers should be of great assistance whenever you feel like you were the victim of the distracted behavior of others, don’t hesitate in contacting one whenever you need to.

A recent study reveals that two out of every ten drivers admit to replying to emails and text messages while conducting a vehicle.

The statics indicate that the rise in use of handheld devices in the last year has resulted in a great number of accidents that could have been avoided if drivers weren’t distracted.

The recent effort from several states to ban the use of cellphones while behind the wheel has yet to catch on, according to the annual study announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The agency showed that half of drivers 21 to 24 years old who participated in the survey confirmed they engaged in texting behind the wheel while most drivers of every age group admitted they would answer a phone call while handling a vehicle without hesitation.

According to the authorities leading the studies, education and awareness alone won’t change this picture. He makes the case for a steady law enforcement that will protect drivers from the distracted behavior of others.

Jacket Provides A Safe Motorcycle Riding Experience To Riders

Motorcycle safety has been a much talked about subject for a long time but now, engineers noticed the time has come for them to try out new ways of improving the safety of riders worldwide.

According to many news articles, airbags built in the motorcycles have turned out to be inefficient and quite unsafe. Jackets with an internal system capable of activating an inflatable device via micro sensors are already being manufactured. These sensors detect impact right away so the inflating device will be activated in less than a second and the rider will be protected.

Companies like Alpinestars and Dainese have finally developed this protective jacket and it’s already being sold outside America. For now, the inflatable jackets must be tested properly so American riders can enjoy the new product and the safety it provides.

As a Seattle motorcycle accident attorney I urge all riders to keep an eye on news related to this device. Any extra safety option available for motorcycle riders should be welcome.

Personal injury lawyers are quite familiar with fatalities related to accidents that could have been prevented if only riders had the right protection gear. Come back for more news on this subject.

Safer Motorcycle Riding, A Possible Reality

According to several news articles, engineers have been focusing their efforts on making motorcycle riding a safer practice for all bike aficionados worldwide.

From thicker jackets and more efficient helmets to actual airbags built in the motorcycles, safety gadgets were created over time to make the riding experience safer and more comfortable. Some items worked perfectly but others, like the built-in airbags, haven’t proven to be quite effective.

Chances are you have heard a story or two about how actually dangerous an airbag can be to the motorcyclist. Having an inflatable device propelling out of the vehicle against the rider can be considered useless for a vehicle without any safety restraints.

Now, two companies are designing a jacket that will inflate via micro sensors that have the capacity to detect a huge impact and take less than a second to reach its full size. According to the articles, this item is still not available in America but is giving riders a whole new found confidence in the rest of the World.

As a motorcycle accident lawyer in Los Angeles, I hope this device will be properly tested and distributed to the nation. Any personal injury lawyer can tell you how we hold safe riding practices as one of our major priorities.
