Three Teens Injured After Crash Just Southeast of Tacoma

According to several local news sources, an accident just southeast of Tacoma sent three teens to the Hospital.

The official reports from the Washington State Patrol show that the vehicle driven by an 18-year-old driver crashed into a pole on Highway 161 causing severe injuries to one of the passengers. The accident happened sometime around 12 a.m. on Thursday without involving any other vehicle.

The Washington State Patrol spokesperson stated that alcohol is likely the cause behind this accident. Officers say the driver will probably be charged with vehicular assault. Details regarding how the accident came to be were not disclosed by the authorities. The WSP is still investigating the case.

As a Tacoma car accident lawyer, it saddens me to hear about accidents involving drunk driving. This accident could have been avoided if the drunk teenage driver was in a sober state of mind and aware of his surroundings. I hope the three teens quickly recover from any injuries sustained in this incident. It is now up to the legal system to decide what charges the young man will be faced with.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a drunken driving accident, contact a personal injury lawyer in your region right away.

The accident happened near Lake Elsinore around 7:30 in the morning. A 66-year-old man was driving westbound on Highway 74 when his Toyota Prius drifted off to the opposing traffic lanes.

CHP Santa Cruz Division: First in the State in Education and Safety

According to the local news, the California Highway Patrol Santa Cruz division won two very prestigious awards. Local troopers say that the fact Santa Cruz is seeing a decreasing number of deaths related to car accidents just proves that they’re doing something right.

The California Highway Patrol spokesperson says that the tough law enforcement combined with educational programs have cut the numbers of fatalities in the region by 69 percent since the year of 2008.

Local enforcement focus on intoxicated drivers while officers throughout Santa Cruz deliver traffic safety education to all residents in an effective way. According to the local troopers, education is the key to safer roads and better results.

All departments linked to the California Highway Patrol from the entire state are judged by a panel of police chiefs on each agency’s achievements on training and enforcement. The Santa Cruz agency won in its class for the great number of lives they helped to save in the past year.

As a Los Angeles car accident lawyer I’m extremely happy to learn that so many troopers in our great state are dedicated to saving the lives of countless drivers and that educations combined with a strict enforcement have paid off in Santa Cruz.
