Three Teens Injured After Crash Just Southeast of Tacoma

According to several local news sources, an accident just southeast of Tacoma sent three teens to the Hospital.

The official reports from the Washington State Patrol show that the vehicle driven by an 18-year-old driver crashed into a pole on Highway 161 causing severe injuries to one of the passengers. The accident happened sometime around 12 a.m. on Thursday without involving any other vehicle.

The Washington State Patrol spokesperson stated that alcohol is likely the cause behind this accident. Officers say the driver will probably be charged with vehicular assault. Details regarding how the accident came to be were not disclosed by the authorities. The WSP is still investigating the case.

As a Tacoma car accident lawyer, it saddens me to hear about accidents involving drunk driving. This accident could have been avoided if the drunk teenage driver was in a sober state of mind and aware of his surroundings. I hope the three teens quickly recover from any injuries sustained in this incident. It is now up to the legal system to decide what charges the young man will be faced with.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a drunken driving accident, contact a personal injury lawyer in your region right away.

According to multiple news sources, a 25-year-old woman from Sacramento was involved in a fatal accident last night.

The California Highway Patrol states that a 60-year-old driver was driving her Chevy Equinox northbound on Fulton Avenue some time after 9 o’clock at night when the 25-year-old hurled herself in front of the vehicle.

Nissan Recalls 2011 Juke Sport Utility Vehicles

According to the articles released early today, Nissan is recalling the 2011 model of the Juke sport utility vehicles due to a faulty turbocharger sensor. The company released an announcement stating that 28,000 units of the vehicle must be recalled after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration noticed the bracket could fall into the engine’s air inlet tube leading the car to stall unexpectedly. According to the agency, this issue may increase the risk of an accident.

The affected vehicles are equipped with a turbocharger engine and were manufactured between April 2010 and May 2011. Nissan revealed that owners would be contacted so they can bring their recalled vehicles to authorized dealerships for an inspection. If necessary, the air inlet tube will be replaced at the spot.

The notification will be sent to Juke owners at the beginning of January 2012, according to the official reports.

As a Bellevue car accident lawyer I can tell you that it’s important to have your vehicle in the best running condition possible. I advise all Juke SUV owners to contact Nissan if you have any questions about the recall and how to proceed to get your vehicle fixed.

Any personal injury lawyer can tell you that the recall issued by Nissan was a smart move, being proactive and contacting owners right away can prevent possible car accidents from happening.

Teen Driver Allegedly Arrested After Reckless Behavior

According to different news sources, a teenager was allegedly involved in a crash after trying to pass several different vehicles on a busy Highway last Thursday morning.

The reports from the local authorities show the teen was later arrested after being charged with reckless driving after causing injuries to her teenager passenger.

The 19-year-old was going eastbound on the highway when she decided to pass several vehicles at a high speed. According to the local Highway Patrol, at a certain point the driver used the right shoulder to continue to pass vehicles.

Allegedly, the teen finally lost control of her car leading it to spin several times across the two lanes of the Highway. The car left the road, hit a fence and overturned falling back on its tires.

Even though she was driving recklessly, there were no drugs or alcohol found in the driver’s blood.

The 19-year-old passenger from Clearlake sustained some minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The local officers said she was aided as soon as they arrived at the scene. A personal injury lawyer could be of great help to the passenger at this moment.

After short investigations and some data collected from the witnesses, the authorities realized she should be taken under their custody for her reckless driving.

As a Federal Way car accident lawyer I hope that all young drivers reading this post will look at this accident as a way of understanding how dangerous engaging in a reckless behavior can be.
